PUBLIC SAFETY. Res. re: Installation of a 3 way stop sign at intersection of Windingbrook Lane and Baldwin Avenue.
PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION. Res. re: Lease agreement for Caretaker of Broad Brook Filter Plant for two years and City Manager is authorized to execute this agreement on behalf of the City.
FINANCE. Res. re: Appropriation of $2,250 from Contingency Budget to pay expenses associated with arbitration award between Meriden Board of Education and Meriden Federation of School Administrators.

FILED. Bid Waiver re: Engineering Department is requesting a bid waiver to allow AMTRAK to provide flag protection during the construction of the Railroad Canopy and Station Platform Improvements. This is an AMTRAK rail line and they are the only people who can provide this service.

ADOPTED. Finance Committee Report recommending that a resolution concerning an appropriation of $85,000 for material and installation costs for traffic signal at Thomas Edison Middle School be ADOPTED and that source of funding will be a Special Appropriation until the CIP is approved.
ADOPTED. Finance Committee Report recommending that a resolution concerning an upgrade from Records Clerk to Administrative Secretary at Police Department be ADOPTED and the employee be paid retro to 1/23/01.
ADOPTED. Finance Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a resolution concerning a special appropriation of $200,000 be made to cover dumping fees for the Bulky Waste Program until the end of fiscal year.
ADOPTED. Finance Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of an appropriation of $7,000 from the Contingency Fund for the Visions Group for the cost of flower planting program to include barrels for median on Parker Avenue.
ADOPTED. Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a letter to City Manager Kemp, Mayor Marinan and City Planner Caruso concerning biological control on city-owned land at Hanover Pond.
RECOMMITTED TO PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION. Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending that a resolution concerning a “dog park” be developed with report back within 120 days and that this be DENIED with the understanding that the need for a “dog park” is currently being met at Guiffrida Park.
ADOPTED. Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a resolution concerning the discontinuance of Hull Avenue on Map #490.
ADOPTED. Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a resolution concerning map revision, Crow Hollow Brook in the area of Lincoln Middle School.
RECOMMITTED TO PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION.B Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending DENIAL of a resolution concerning staff be directed to do an RFP regarding water and sewer to assist City in attaining economies in said material and labor structure and to be performance based only with report back to Council within 90 days.
ADOPTED. Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending the paving list for 2001 be ADOPTED and that this committee report clears the Public Works and Parks & Recreation agenda’s paving list recommendations.
ADOPTED. Public Works and Parks & Recreation Committee Report recommending the sidewalk list for 2001 be ADOPTED and sidewalks in Phase 1 be funded through the existing Sidewalk Bond Account; sidewalks in Phase II be funded from future Capital Improvement Plan; and that this committee report clears the Public Works and Parks & Recreation agenda’s sidewalk list recommendations.
ADOPTED. Public Safety Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a FEMA Grant for fire officers and firefighters to be trained in supervisory skills
and safety and is conditional upon City receiving the grant and source of funding ($12,600) be determined by the Finance Committee.
ADOPTED. Public Safety Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a FEMA Grant for fire officers and firefighters to be provided with necessary equipment and training to initiate a Physical Fitness Wellness Program and is conditional upon City receiving the grant and source of funding ($42,300) be determined by the Finance Committee.
ADOPTED. Public Safety Committee Report recommending ADOPTION of a letter concerning street lights be installed on Schwink Drive and is conditional upon City paying $10.00 per light (2 lights) per month.
