RECAPITULATIONS.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION, CONSERVATION COMMISSION.  Res. re:  City Manager be authorized to execute any and all documents for the City to acquire title to property formerly owned by Yankee Gas located between Meridian Street and Harbor Brook.

FINANCE.  Res. re:  Appropriation of $50,000 from Contingency Fund to pay for the removal of trees that are diseased or unsafe or creating a safety hazard in the City of Meriden.

FINANCE.  Letter to Mayor Marinan from Kitty Ing of Special Olympics regarding inclusion in the budget.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Lease of City property in Wallingford and their recommendation to deny for the purpose of installation of a wireless communications facility and their reason for the negative recommendation is their concern for towers to be placed throughout the landscaping of the region.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Discontinuance of sidewalks – Williams Communication and their recommendation to discontinue Cherry Street from a point 215 ft. westerly of the South Colony/Cherry Street intersection to South Colony per the Engineering Department’s recommendation.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Disposition of 83 Greenwood Park and their recommendation to dispose of the trailer at 83 Greenwood Park.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  1133-1155 Hanover Street and their recommendation to dispose of this .29 acre parcel zoned C-2 and that the structure on the parcel is vacant.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Lewis Avenue Development Project and their recommendation that City Council designate the Lewis Avenue Restoration Commission as the agency to:  Prepare a project plan for Lewis Avenue; to seek grants and to facilitate such plan.  

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Lewis Avenue Restoration Committee – Chapter 130 C.G.S. and their recommendation that the

City Council create the Lewis Avenue Restoration Committee which is to have the powers of a redevelopment agency pursuant to Chapter 130 of C.G.S.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  City Property – 39 Cook Avenue and their recommendation that the City Council dispose of 39 Cook Avenue to the owner of 21 Cook Avenue.  The Commission makes this recommendation in support of the applicants proposal to occupy the entire building at 21 Cook Avenue.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Discontinuance of a portion of Cherry Street and their recommendation that the City Council discontinue Cherry Street from a point 215 ft. westerly of the South Colony/Cherry Street intersection to South Colony per the Engineering Department’s recommendation.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  South Colony Industrial Park Project Plan and their recommendation that the City Council designate the Meriden Manufacturing Assistance Agency as the implementing agency for the municipal development project known as the South Colony Industrial Park Project and that this agency shall have all the power as stated in C.G.S. Section 32-220 to 32-234.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  Zone Change Application – Cook Avenue and their recommendation to approve the proposed zone change application of JEM Corporation for the former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital site and surrounds.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Planning Commission re:  739 Hanover Road, 101-103-115 Barr Road and 71 Pomeroy Avenue and their recommendation to acquire these properties for the purpose of flood control.  These properties were identified by the Harbor Brook Flood Control Committee study as parcels that are necessary for controlling the floods along Harbor Brook.  As flood control has been a top priority of the Planning Commission, it is recommended that these parcels be acquired.

MNO28.  ADOPTED.  Res. re:  Appropriation of $3000.00 from Contingency Fund for purposes of conducting summer activities at City Park.

MNO29.  ADOPTED.  Res. re:  Appropriation of an amount not to exceed $120.00 be made from the Contingency Fund to pay the balance to Meriden Animal Hospital for services rendered to animals in a house to be demolished at 146 Britannia Street.

MNO30.  ADOPTED.  Res. re:  City Manager be authorized to enter into Agreement #4.19-07(01) in connection with Project #79-210 regarding reconstruction of Gravel Street and Baldwin Avenue.

MNO31.  FINANCE.  Res. re:  Appropriation not to exceed $24,303.74 from General Fund for Scottsdale Insurance.
