RECAPITULATIONS.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, HOUSING & ZONING FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND PLANNING.  Petition to amend Section 213-7B by adding:  Conference Hotel and amend Section 213-22B(1) by adding:  (j)Conference Hotel.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION AND PLANNING.  Petition with 11 signatures requesting to make Merritt Place off of Gravel Street a City street.

FINANCE.  Res. re:  City Manager be authorized to communicate to the Connecticut Siting Council that it supports the amended plan before the Siting Council.

ADOPTED.  Res. re:  Delegation of Randy Kamerbeek, Economic Development Director, Lauren Coffey, former Chairperson Economic Development, Housing & Zoning Committee and Thomas Luby, former State Representative be asked to represent the City at Brownfields 2001 Conference to accept the Phoenix Award for the North Colony Street Industrial Park Project (Walbro) and that their reasonable fees be reimbursed by the City.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION.  Res. re:  Landscaping of the Public Library be taken over by the Parks and Public Works Department and the City Manager be directed to place sufficient funds in next year’s municipal budget to pay these expenses.

FINANCE FOR PUBLIC HEARING.  Res. re:  Addition of Section 187-21 to the City Code regarding Tax Exempt Organizations.

PUBLIC SAFETY.  Res. re:  Possible installation of Children in area signs and/or additional speed signs on Reservoir Avenue.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION.  Res. re:  City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement for water/sewer services to the Plainfield Airport Business Park of Wallingford.

ADOPTED.  Res. re:  $38,000 be made available from the City’s Contingency Fund for a primary to be held in September.

TABLED.  Res. re:  John Sola is appointed to the PUC to fill the unexpired term of Charles Kzyswanos (1/31/02).

ADOPTED.  Res. re:  Public Utilities Commission authorizes $42,482 from Retained Earnings for insurance.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION.  Res. re:  Spruce Brook be dredged and vegetation removed from its banks.

FINANCE.  Res. re:  Settlement for legal claim of Timothy Daum.

ADOPTED.  Res. re:  Michael Ranno is appointed to the Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term of Raymond Bennett (1/31/02).

PUBLIC SAFETY.  Res. re:  Stop sign be erected at the top of Main Street, South Meriden.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION.  Res. re:  Hillwood Lane be added to the 2002 paving list.

FINANCE AND PLANNING.  Res. re:  Acquire properties in lieu of taxes from YMCA (Carriage Works).

FINANCE AND PLANNING.  Res. re:  Transfer of property from City of Meriden to the YMCA.

ADOPTED.  Res. re:  Funds for Teen Activities.

PUBLIC WORKS AND PARKS & RECREATION.  Res. re:  Briar Lane be added to the 2002 paving list.

FILED.  Letter to City Manager Kemp from Thomas Atkins, Manager of PDC – El Paso re:  Update to City Council on status of Meriden Power Plant.

FILED.  Letter to City Council from Board of Ethics re:  Mark Benigni seeking Advisory Opinion concerning voting on Teen Center Issue and their opinion that he was not at conflict with the Code of Ethics when he voted on issues pertaining to the Teen center and that contract with the City.
