The Public Hearing for the Committee of the Whole was called to order by Deputy Mayor Walter Shamock at 6:30 p.m. The Clerk called the roll. Present: Mathew Dominello, Joseph Ferrigno Feest, Joseph Galotti, Keith Gordon, Brian Kogut, George McGoldrick, Walter Shamock, Anthony Tomassetti and Stephen Zerio.
ABSENT: Robert Clermont was on vacation. Patricia Lynes was excused. Michael Rohde was excused.
OTHERS IN ATTENDANCE: Roger L. Kemp, City Manager and Lawrence J. Kendzior, Corporation Counsel.

MERIDEN CITY COUNCIL
The Committee of the Whole of the Meriden City Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, City Hall, 142 East Main Street, Meriden, CT. On the agenda will be the following:
Item #MNO39 of 1/22/02: Resolution regarding designation of voting districts.
At this hearing, all interested persons may appear and be heard and written comments will be received. A copy of the full text of the above are on file in the office of the City Clerk and is available for public inspection.

Deputy Mayor Shamock asked if there were any members of the public present who wished to speak in regards to the above. The following persons spoke: Frank Rotella, John Quine, Arline Dunlop, Ralph Collazo and Jim Belote. When the Chairman determined that all who wished to speak had done so he declared the public hearing to be closed. The time was 7:10 p.m.

Deputy Mayor Shamock then recognized Majority Leader Stephen Zerio, the maker of the resolution for the purpose of a motion.
Stephen Zerio, made a motion, seconded by Joseph Galotti, to accept and adopt the resolution as originally submitted with no amendments. Councilor Gordon noted that there was a typographical error in Precinct 84-15 and 82-1 – Oregon Avenue should be Oregon Road.
Deputy Mayor Shamock asked for a roll call vote. Councilors Dominello, Galotti, Gordon, Kogut, McGoldrick, Tomassetti and Zerio voted Aye. Councilors Feest and Shamock voted Nay. The motion carried 7:2.
There being no further business to be brought before the Committee of the Whole, the Chairman adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
