Santa Letters Santa Claus will once again be responding to Christmas letters! Children between the ages of 1-12 are invited to sent their wish lists and letter through the United States Postal Service mail system or bring them to the Park & Recreation Department a 460 Liberty Street. To ensure a response by Christmas, children are asked to forward letters no later than December 19th. All letters should be addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole”. Be sure to include the child’s full name & address.
Christmas in the Park The 20th Annual Christmas in the Park celebration will take place on Tuesday, December 9th from 4:30p – 7:30p at Hubbard Park . This free event features great family entertainment, including wagon rides through the “Festival of Silver Lights” display, Santa Claus and other holiday characters, children’s art & crafts, musical entertainment by local school groups, ice carving and seasonal refreshments.
Festival of Silver Lights The 2008-2009 Festival of Silver Ligh5ts will be on display from dusk to dawn at Hubbard Park through January 7, 2009. There is no cost to view the display. Please note there is limited access through the park on Tuesday, December 9th .
Holiday House Decorating Contest Meriden homes are invited to enter the 2008 “Holiday House Decorating Contest” Phone entries will be accepted at the Parks and Recreation office from December 1st thru December 16th. Judging will take place on Wednesday, December 17th . Awards will be awarded to Most Creative, Most Traditional, Holiday Spirit, and Judges Choice.
